Can someone be part sociopath and part better human? - alcohol and pulmonary hypertension
I had a friend, now deceased, who yielded the description of a sociopath part of the time and had the integrity and goodwill and tolerance of the rest of the time. My main source for the description of a psychopath is the book "The Next Door" sociopath "by Martha Stout, Ph.D. The symptoms that I saw were in full agreement with the psychopaths in decisions about themselves, such as drug abuse, alcohol abuse, despite parking snuff chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and decisions about them and their health and personal safety.
However, compared to me, my mother, and his friends, he will spare no effort to provide their service. He was helpful, always positive and very loving.
Is there a word that best describes this dichotomy? Wholisitic'm searching for a vision of his personality.

I do not think that he is a sociopath. "Self-described" best.
A true psychopath Reguard not for everyone.
Many mental disorders can be misinterpreted as something else. What you describe could fit a lot of things. People to care for others but not for them a personality disorder and self-defeating as anyone could mention. Or just addicted.
No other condition can not think of it, basically means that they need to take care of others and about value.
Sounds like he was more concerned about others than for themselves. I am sure will be missed.
Go ahead ... knows that his time
